Right to Marriage and Family

These days violence, intolerance, racism, discrimination seems to increase again. More and more people need to flee their homes and/or their countries, in the hope to find safety and peace elsewhere on our big Dreampack. When even leaders have forgotten our Universal Human Rights, I feel it’s time and very important to remind us all again of our Universal Human Rights.

The Declaration consists of thirty articles affirming an individual’s rights which, although not legally binding in themselves, have been elaborated in subsequent international treaties, economic transfers, regional human rights instruments, national constitutions, and other laws. At my website you will find a permalink to a list of the 30 basic Human Rights: regardless where you were born, how you are raised, your circumstances, etc., as a human being you automatically have these basic rights. I added this link to make sure all the Beautiful Souls who visit my site, will be reminded of the rights we have.

During the upcoming weeks, I will select some of these important rights and add my personal view. I would like to encourage you to look up our Human Rights, not to take these for granted or to misuse, but as a reminder we are all Human beings, Beautiful Souls and therefore we all matter.

In addition, I hope to inspire the writers and artists among us to also use this topic for an article, story, poem, photograph, paint or any other piece of art and help me and many Human Rights Organizations to spread this information of huge importance.

Article 16 ~ Right to Marriage and Family

“(1) Men and women of full age, without any limitation due to race, nationality or religion, have the right to marry and to found a family. They are entitled to equal rights as to marriage, during marriage and at its dissolution.
(2) Marriage shall be entered into only with the free and full consent of the intending spouses.
(3) The family is the natural and fundamental group unit of society and is entitled to protection by society and the State.”

My personal view:

I truly wonder how many people are aware of this Universal Human Right. To me, this right does not forbid marriage between two men or two women, therefore I don’t understand, why countries, states, municipalities/communities/local authorities have implemented laws to prohibit, and thus ban, marriage between homosexual human beings.

Religions who forbid homosexuality, or state it is unacceptable, I question their interpretation of the old books, like the Bible, Koran, Thora, etc. But hey…maybe, I interpreted those ancient documents wrong…

In my view, it comes down to this question: is it natural for human beings to be attracted to, in a (sexual) relationship with, love someone of the same gender? The only right answer should be this:

People who still believe it’s unnatural to be homosexual, are either ignorant or have not been educated right.

Unfortunately, there are still people today who choose to be ignorant, do not want to educate themselves. Even worse, choose to be violent against their neighbors for being a unique human individual, a Beautiful Soul. THAT is to me unacceptable and should be forbidden.

Article 1 ~ Right to Equality, the first Universal Human Right. I believe, this right was chosen to be the first right for a reason 😉

We are all equal: no matter our race, nationality, religion…I think it is high time, we added:

No matter our sexual orientation.
