Living on the edge; why I became a member of Achology
For as long as I can remember, I am on a quest to find Truth. Reading materials of ancient and modern philosophers, searching for answers to questions as: Is it coincidence, or are we human beings here on this planet for a reason? Grasping there’s a reason of the fact we are here, is it enough? Maybe I don’t need a reason for my existence. Am I the reason?
Another way to find answers to my questions is studying psychology, to learn more about myself and to seek understanding why people do what they do. It led me to various online platforms, on which I started to complete several courses related to existential well-being, psychology, depression, coaching and counselling.
“Curiosity does NOT kill the cat.” – Patty Wolters
Curious by nature and a rebel with regard to belief systems. I don’t subscribe to one religion, one political vision, one belief-system. Understanding we all have our own truth, all of us are unique individuals with the right of freedom of choice; who we want to be and how we want to thrive. We are all perfectly imperfect. At the same time, we all have to take responsibility for ourselves, our own life. I learned to appreciate I know all and nothing at all.
However, as much as I respect the unique individual we all are, I truly believe we need each other. Survival as human being goes further as meeting our basics as propagation, clean water, food, shelter. We thrive best surrounded by fellow human beings. It’s incorporated in our DNA, in our nature of being.
“When the basic needs are unavailable to us, regardless the cause, people
are primarily driven by a “striving to find meaning in one’s life.” – Victor Frankl
My quest in finding Truth has endorsed my conviction that underneath every belief system lies a common ground: we all want to belong. There is so much we can learn from our ancestors, there is so much we can learn from each other today. The perfect way does not exist; we are free to embrace those perspectives, tools and belief-systems that are true to our core values.
In our modern society we have the opportunity to connect via online platforms on a global scale. That has become a way to educate myself, a way to reach out to my neighbors in general and more specifically, to those in need of a listening ear. It has also become a way I build meaningful connections for the purpose of exchanging perspectives, learning and growing together.
Achology – The Academy of Modern Applied Psychology
A relatively new online platform is Achology. Achology… the name sounded a bit sinister to me and to be honest, at first I thought; “Is this a new religion, or a cult? Hiding behind the growing business of life-coaching?” The vision, however, intrigued me and I became a member.
“We believe that every individual has an innate desire to DEVELOP, ENHANCE
and EVOLVE into their BEST possible self.” – sentence in The Achology Manifesto
By the way, speaking of Truth, with regard to this Academy, I couldn’t be further from it. Actively involved since January 2019, this is what I have personally experienced so far:
Achology is an online platform, for the purpose of creating a global community, regardless background, belief-system, etc. On which all members connect to:
- grow on a personal level
- grow on a professional level
- make an impact in personal and professional connections, regardless the purpose of that connection.
The online academy has a forum, workshops/triads, resources and other tools to learn and/or improve helping skills and become multi-disciplinary practitioners. Life-Coaching, Counselling, Skilled Helper, Mindfulness, NLP, CBT, Hypnotherapy are currently the main courses. Together with other professionals, beginners and experienced, you can practice via various live online trainings. Need help building your business, the forum is your place to be.
All is done within Achology based on maturity, unconditional positive regard, congruence and most of all acceptance of the imperfect human beings we all are. Achology is an amazing opportunity for individuals to strive for global synchronicity, even global harmony. Modern Applied Psychology as the starting point to build upon.

between the ancient wisdom and the unknown wisdom of the future.
Not subscribing to anything specific, open to everything.” – Patty Wolters
On this online platform, I’ve found a community which enhances my quest of Truth. Empowering me to keep challenging myself, to keep living on the edge.
