As humans, we all get to a point in life, we are supposed to start creating our own Dreampack. As unique individuals, the interpretation of how to fulfill a Dreampack will be very different, since we all have our own specific natural needs. Your Dreampack is already as you would like it to be, fantastic! I am sincerely happy for you. But what, if it’s not?
Before you even start to create Your Dreampack, you have to think about what a Dreampack is to you. After I realized not only dogs, but also we human beings deserve to have a Dreampack, I wrote down what a Dreampack is to me:
So for me, it is about a way of life, the Beautiful Souls I would like to include in my Dreampack and the place where I prefer to create this. Read more HERE about my vision 😉 Determine what you find important in life in general – to do, to posses, to learn, to achieve, etc. – and if you want to share Your Dreampack with another soul.
Regardless the current situation you’re at, the best starting point to decide how to create Your Dreampack is to first realize that the big ball we live upon is also a Dreampack; a place for all living creatures together. No matter where you live: treat your environment and neighbors (humans, flora and fauna) with the same respect you expect.
Next decide where Your Dreampack is going to be. Maybe you don’t even want a permanent residence, but prefer to travel across our big Dreampack. Becca and Alex of RoamWildandFree do this for years now and share their adventures. They also wrote a handy article with financial tips how to realize this and being responsible at the same time: Read More.
Which brings me to another important topic: Finance. What you don’t have, you can’t spend. I know, nowadays it is easy to get a credit card, a loan and have quick access to your dream. However, you have to be able to pay back the money you spend at a certain point in future, so keep that in mind while planning Your Dreampack 😉
Rather have a Dreampack as a steady place to return to after shorter or longer trips? Don’t like to travel at all? Even when you are a one-person-family and therefore you don’t have to take as much into consideration as a larger family does…The extent of your family (with or without pets), your financial situation, your health will influence the kind of Dreampack you would like to create. Also the surrounding you prefer – woods, desert, sea, mountains, etc. – will impact your decision.
Subsequently the question will rise, do you want a big house, a tiny house, an apartment, a cabin? So many options are possible in the 21st century. Again, your financial situation will have to be a big part of that decision.
Dreams can come true!
From the moment I lived independently, I resided at various kinds of buildings. I lived in a small and a bigger apartment, small and large houses. Currently, I live together with ‘my’ Beautiful Souls in a big farmhouse and let me tell you; that didn’t happen overnight. For years we hardly went on any vacation, we still don’t travel a lot, only bought what we really needed, restaurants…nope, movies we watched at home and still today, even with an improved financial situation; we still deliberate carefully how we spend our income.
It’s all about choice and remember, when made well thought out you can’t go wrong. Since a choice can always be changed the next moment. Unless the situation demands otherwise, try to stick to your choice for at least a year. Do you still don’t feel happy at the Dreampack you created during that period of time, write down the pro’s and con’s and take the necessary actions to achieve Your Dreampack. A choice can be made quickly, but to reverse it, is most of the times no longer an option.
The cliché is true; the grass isn’t greener at the other side. You don’t now what your neighbor had to do in order to create their Dreampack. Be realistic, and thus take an honest look at your situation, your abilities, your options and although you definitely should follow your heart, a bit common sense will not hurt your either 😉
Good luck in creating Your Dreampack!
